Mini Park

Stewardship of Park and Other Green Space

Spring /summer 2010 is getting underway. Trees and bushes in the park will again rely on mother nature and volunteers for water. Please sign up at the spring cleanup day if you are interested in helping out.

Any homeowners interested in helping take care of the park (or other commons areas) are encouraged to sign up at the Spring Clean-Up Day May 15th at 10:00AM, email Bruce Stephens at isu4u@neb.rr.com or to leave a post in this "MiniPark" section of this blog. It is hoped that volunteers can sign up to water all or a portion of the park for a scheduled amount of time. This is a good opportunity to enjoy the out-of-doors and encourage stewardship of the natural spaces that surround us for young and old alike.

Note: In an effort to protect commons areas from damage homeowners are encouraged to call 911 to report suspicious activity in any of the commons green spaces cared for by homeowners of our area.

Park History
  • The mini park on the intersection of Upton Grey and Thompson Creek Blvd is an area with much potential for those dwelling in the area. In the spring of 2008 playground equipment was installed by members of the homeowners association with the help of a playground installation team supplied by the company from whom the equipment was purchased.
  • In spring 2009 the park was been enhanced to include a boulder sign that should be getting landscaping soon. A 2nd park bench as well as a garbage can have been added to the park.
  • In spring 2010 a few more trees are planned to be added at the northwest corner of the part by the sign.

Plants in the park.

There are still some that need to be replaced and it will be necessary to keep plants watered this summer (2009) as most still have a fairly immature root system that does not reach down very low for moisture. A water spigot is not currently available in the park so that is an item that may be discussed at the annual meeting this spring.
